By Bus
Deluxe, Volvo, semi-deluxe, and ordinary Uttarakhand State buses depart every hour from ISBT Kashmere Gate (New Delhi) and Anand Vihar (Ghaziabad). An overnight deluxe A/C service is also operated by Uttarakhand Tourism. The journey from Delhi takes approximately 6-7 hours.
The Dehradun bus station is located about 12 km from the University. If travelling from Delhi, trains are generally more convenient.
Private bus services also operate between New Delhi and Dehradun. The two main bus terminals in Dehradun are:
Delhi Bus Stand, Gandhi Road (Inter-State Bus Terminal)
Mussoorie Bus Stand near Dehradun Railway Station, offering services to Mussoorie and other Himalayan destinations.
By Car
Dehradun is approximately a 6-hour drive from Delhi. However, unless you leave early in the morning, traffic congestion may significantly increase travel time. The road is relatively narrow in certain stretches, and slow-moving vehicles during harvest seasons, as well as pilgrim movement during late July and early August, may affect travel speed.
